–In attendance: Shanelle Clayton, Bryan Spangler, Tony Lawson, Porter Moffitt, Jeremy Leger, Lindsay Hess, Shannon Stoker, Angie Young, Jamie Klimt, Lisa Petersen, Mikey Roush
-Two new board members, Jeremy Leger and Porter Moffitt attended the meeting and were unanimously approved by the board
-We are still in need of board members, come and serve! Most urgently, we need a President. Some previous experience is nice, but not necessary. Reply to this email if you are interested please 🙂
-pressing issues: tennis, marketing, and sales
Jeremy says he has some experience in all 3 fields and can help where he is needed.
We need to have our tennis program decided upon, and lessons posted to the website at the same time as swim lessons, so parents can potentially sign their children up for both.
-We are open to any and all ideas regarding a tennis and/or pickleball program
-Finances: we currently have just shy of $30k in the account.
-We desperately need a new website, and discussion was held to use some of our aforementioned budget to put toward this. Porter has a contact that builds websites and will get a quote from him. We are required as a non-profit to have certain things listed on our web page. The website for lessons we are using is iClassPro. Our website links you to iClassPro where the sign-ups take place. iClassPro has been great for lessons, but difficult for accounting purposes. Some discussion was held on switching to a different system/platform–nothing decided yet.
All website quotes are welcome.
-Reminder that annual dues were increased, and starting this 2025 season, it will be $750 per membership. Invoices will go out April 1st, and the dues are due by May 1st.
-Tony: maintenance
When he turned off the water for the season, he couldn’t get the water to completely seat. There was a drip every few seconds. He contacted the city about this and they weren’t concerned. Due diligence was done, and if the water meter has to be replaced, that’s a city issue, not ours.
Our water heaters are on their last legs–every year we hope to get one more season out of them. So far we’ve been lucky. But it could potentially be a sooner than wanted expense, out of necessity, to replace them.
The front railing that came loose this last season will be welded soon.
-We have several neighbors who use our parking in the off-season. We are going to check with the city to see if it’s a liability to us, ie fire-hazard, etc. If not, we should start charging them going forward to use our parking.
-We plan to open the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, May 24th!
